Where We’re Going

continue making disciples

Shepherd’s Way Church is not a building, it’s God’s people called out together as one body and one family in this specific place and time.

Together we believe that the Great Commission of Jesus Christ is a life defining journey.

We understand that for the Christian we are not only saved by the Gospel, but we are also called to live by the freedom, power, and discipline that it provides.

As we continue to move forward and grow, we continue to take seriously the Lord Jesus’ call to make disciples and teach them to obey.

This call is not just a call on the life of the pastor, but on the life of every man, woman, and child of our church body.

Continue being in the community

At Shepherd’s Way Church one of our core values is family.

As God’s family in this place, we desire to be a blessing to the community He has placed us in.

We believe this is a call to offer no strings attached, real-life, tangible love to our community.

In addition to being a blessing, we desire to empower local families in our community to connect on their own, as well as to empower our connection to families, so that as ambassadors of Christ, we can speak and live the truth of Christ to them.

We do this by blessing the community through the regular use of our current building and acreage, as well as our other 20+ acre property located in the heart of Pleasant Hope that we are designing to be an entire community complex of family life and health in the future (our Cove Community Complex vision pictured above).

We currently have built a 40 × 60 pavilion on this property that we use to host things like local birthday, graduation parties, our SWC hosted farmers market, and regular SWC-hosted community barn dance parties.

Continue Advancing the kingdom

As we move forward, we desire to grow the vision of SWC through House Churches that will possess the ability to eventually become independent churches in communities beyond our immediate Pleasant Hope, Fair Grove, Bolivar context.

We also desire to grow our immediate vision of utilizing our building and property (as well as the Cove Community Complex) to support our vision of breathing the life of Christ into the individuals and families of this community.

We see all of the “properties” and other “things” that God has given us as tools for both strengthening the gathered church and empowering the scattered church to be salt and light wherever they find themselves.

As God continues to give to us, we will continue to advance and build His kingdom in the place He has planted us.
